True companion

When you were in tears,
I was weeping with you,
But you never noticed me.
When you were jovial,
I too smiled heartily,
But you never found it.
When you were wounded,
I was bleeding with you,
But you never caressed me.
When you were awarded,
I was behind you,
But you missed me.
Now you lost your breath,
And I am lying beside you.
Now we can converse,
About the tears and smiles,
Which made you a memory.
Now as your true companion;
I, the shadow, lie with you
And broods over you praises.
